Why TransTrails

TransTrails started out as a biking group that later became legend, the Old Skool Bikers, and now in our new avatar, we are an adventure company. Any activity that you choose to participate in, with us, is well planned, tightly supervised and professionally executed.

We at TransTrails like to think that every now and then, Mother Nature looks through our windows at us, with her hands on her hips and taps a foot impatiently saying “Life is waiting, where are you?” But only some of us, the luckier ones, hear that call.

Eat, pray, love…and enjoy great adventures
A life of fulfillment is not reached by staying within four walls. One has to step out, stretch the legs and the mind, to enjoy and understand the amazing experiences that wait, for those who are ready.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then an experience is worth a billion of those.

While the great outdoors is what every human needs, as much as food and breath, it has to be approached with care and respect. What TransTrails does, quite simply, is make every adventure of yours safe, pleasant and convenient.

Why choose TransTrails?
We look, before you leap

We know how important an adventure break is to our customers, and we go to great lengths to ensure an experience that is interesting, exciting in parts, pleasant, safe and memorable.

Our schedules are scientifically planned taking into account our customers’ safety and fitness, the season, weather, geology, topography, natural phenomena, cultural events, and avoiding the onslaught of the large numbers of general tourists in some geographies.

We make no compromise on the quality of services - this includes travel arrangements, meals, equipment and guidance.

We are always on the hunt for newer locations, and we conduct recces (reconnaissance) trips very regularly. TransTrails frequently offers new and fascinating experiences for our customers, at the fresh locations we keep discovering.

Hand-picked guides
Picking the right man for the job, gets the job done right

TransTrails features dedicated guides for every kind of trip. Not ordinary guides, mind you. Each one is hand-picked for the task. There are guides who are natural bikers or trekkers, or bicyclists. These individuals are identified, trained further and trusted with the specialized task of leading, monitoring and protecting a group of adventurers.

Every guide is caring and meticulous. Your TransTrails guide for biking in the mountains knows what to do in case a member in his group has mountain sickness. And can fix the little mechanical breakdowns that occur in such terrains.

The guide that leads a group of trekkers in the forests of the Western Ghats knows the terrain, and is familiar with the animals there and understands how to keep his group safe from them.

Every individual in our staff is encouraged to be a friend. You will find them to be pleasant and easygoing, addressing all your queries regards adventure or otherwise as they walk alongside you. Since our groups are profiled well, you will never be left alone. There is always someone to walk with you and you will have company to share a great moment with. This does not mean that you will not get time out with Nature alone.

We encourage members of every group to join our staff in doing the chores required during a trip, this makes it a true wilderness experience and makes the trip more memorable. At the end of a trip, we find that members of the group see things a bit differently now and have also forged friendships that will quite likely last a lifetime.

An impeccable safety track record
Our customers have “Been there and done that” in safety

We maintain an impeccable track record of the safe return of our clients. However we encourage you to make all the queries you want regarding safety and will be happy to address each of those, even repeatedly. All outdoor activities are inherently dangerous and we insist on safety norms for your benefit.

All adventure activities are bound to be affected by the vagaries of Nature, and we may advise you and sometimes even insist, against the fulfillment of a certain activity that may be deemed dangerous due to local conditions.

We would love to answer your every question
There are no ‘standard’ individuals, only unique ones

Every person and every group will have some issues that bother them the most. When you call us, you get the benefit of first-hand knowledge. We will happily go to any length to answer the questions regarding the trip you are interested in, whether you’d like to know how we will reach our destination or simply what’s on the breakfast menu.

Before a trip, we go to great lengths to make your acquaintance, understand your requirement, experiences, and anxieties and have a more personalized discussion. We may not always provide you with what you want, but we will definitely find the best fit for you.

We insist on Environmental Codes & Conduct on our trips and respect for all local customs and traditions wherever we go.

About India

India is a whole sub-continent that was turned into a nation by a quirk of history. Through historical and cultural ties, it once included Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. This sprawling landscape was full of kingdoms that alternately practised war and peace with each other.
